Cloud Cult is almost as well known for its dedication to the environment as for its music, a smorgasbord of indie pop, electronic and experimental elements. Founder Craig Minowa, an environmental scientist, lives on an organic hobby farm in northern Minnesota. The band's studio is made mostly of recycled and reused materials, and its CDs are made from post-consumer products. But we wouldn't be talking about any of this if the group didn't deliver the goods musically, and its upcoming sixth album, Feel Good Ghosts (Tea-Partying Through Tornadoes), continues the band's tradition of quirky storytelling and dense, expansive jams. Its live shows can be even more compelling, typically featuring multimedia displays and live art.
